Frontier Airlines Baggage Policy: What You Need to Know
Regular basic fares for Frontier Airlines baggage policy include the following:
- 1 personal item free of cost.
- On 1 carry-on item fees will be applied.
- Fees will be applicable on checked baggage / hold luggage if the number of per bags increased
- Charges will be imposed on overweight and oversize bags depending on the weight and size categories.
- Passengers have to pay the fees on certain sports types of equipment.
Frontier Airlines Carry-on Baggage Policy
1 personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop bag) is permitted without paying any fees except one carry-on bag.
Following size and weight restrictions on carry-on bags:
- 10 x 16 x 24 inches (61 x 41 x 25cm) including wheels and handles.
- Put in the available space under the seat in front of you or overhead bin.
Following size and weight restrictions on personal items:
- 14 x 8 x 18 in / 46 x 36 x 20 cm.
- Carry-on does not count items such as; a jacket, umbrella, diaper bags, duty-free items, and assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, strollers, child restraint seats, etc)
NOTE: There is no under-seat storage on Bulkhead seats, therefore, during take-off, all carry-on baggage must be stowed in the overhead bin.
Frontier Airlines Checked Baggage/Hold Baggage Policy
- 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height) is the maximum dimensions.
- 50 pounds or 23 kilograms is the maximum weight per bag.
- Your fare does not include checked baggage and pay the applicable fees for checked baggage while booking.
Frontier Airlines Baggage Fee
Fees will be applied as per the type of fare you have purchased, and your destination. If you are an active US military personnel and department, have status with Frontier Airlines frequent program, status with an affiliated carrier, or have a Frontier Airline sponsored credit/ charge card.
Frontier Airlines carry-on baggage:
- USD 39 at booking.
- USD 42 before check-in on the web/ mobile application.
- USD 43 at check-in on the web/ mobile application.
- USD 55 at airport ticket counter or kiosk.
- USD 55 at a call center.
- USD 66 at the gate.

First bag:
- USD 34 at booking.
- USD 39 before check-in on the web/ mobile application.
- USD 40 at check-in on the web/ mobile application.
- USD 55 at airport ticket counter or kiosk.

- USD 60 at the gate.
Second Bag:
- USD 45 at booking.

Third + bag:
- USD 85 at booking.

Frontier Airlines Excess baggage Fee
Fee for 3 or more bags:
- USD 85 at booking.
- USD 85 before check-in on the web/ mobile application.
- USD 90 at check-in on the web/ mobile application.
- USD 95 at airport ticket counter or kiosk.
- USD 95 at a call center.
- Not allowed at the gate.
Frontier Airlines Overweight Baggage Fee
Fees will be applicable on bags heavier than the standard 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.
- USD 75 will be charged per extra bag if it is 51 to 100 pounds or 24 to 46 kilograms.
- Checked Baggage/ Hold Luggage bags exceeding 100 pounds or 46 kilograms will not be accepted.
Frontier Airlines Oversize Baggage Fee
USD 75 will be charged for extra bags by Frontier Airlines if they are 63 to 80 linear inches or from 160 to 204 centimeters but if bags are heavier will not be accepted as checked baggage/ hold baggage.
Frontier Airlines Sports Equipment Fee
Associated Fees will be applied and Frontier Airlines will accept sports equipment such as; golf bags, fishing equipment, and hockey, and lacrosse equipment. Size and weight limits and will count as one checked bag/ hold baggage.
CPAP Devices
The canister has to be empty and the value is removed when the unit contains an oxygen cylinder. Airline Dimensions should not be exceeded and there is no electrical power available the onboard the aircraft.
